So much for being quiet. Last Thursday we welcomed a couple of new kiddos to our home: Giggles (almost 4 month old little girl) and Taz (will be two in January)....let's just say their names suit them PERFECTLY. They are awesome kiddos and we are so excited to have them. They are quickly settling into a routine here (right before we disrupt our routine with our annual trip to Disney World...lol) and are fitting right in.
I absolutely LOVE our crazy life and even though things are busy and hectic, we do well that way (afterall, no one is busy without CHOOSING to be busy)....but sometimes that means, it all falls apart. Last night, I was sick (likely just my gallstones but I was sick nonetheless)....I barely was able to go to sleep before Giggles woke me up for an early morning feeding. I fed her and then spent another couple of hours awake and sick. So needless to say, by the time 6:30 came around and it was time to actually drag myself out of bed to get 5 kiddos ready and out the door by 7:30, I wasn't feeling it....at all.
I had to laugh at the image of us coming out of the house. I had a dressy orange tank top on, black exercise leggins and (just for effect) a black and white workout jacket over that ensemble as if that would actually cover up the atrocity of the rest of my appearance. My 2 school-aged kiddos were dressed and N's hair was fixed (M wasn't so fortunate and it was sticking up in ALL directions). C still had his jammies on (but with sneakers so that cancelled itself out) and Giggles was still in her sleeper. Taz WAS dressed but without any shoes on. I'm literally dragging all of these 1/2 dressed children out of the house and to the van as fast as my dressy tank top would let me and got everyone safely buckled. When I pulled up to Mikey's school, I had a horrible revelation - I SUDDENLY remembered that I have to actually get out of my car and walk him to the door. Let's just say that the school is VERY crowded at 7:35 in the morning and I got more than a few puzzled looks at my interesting outfit and unkempt hair....thankfully, N's school just has a drive-thru drop-off and after seeing ME this morning, I have no doubt that M's school may be considering adopting the drive-thru drop-off as well.
So wish me luck as I drag myself through the rest of today (leaving myself only TWO days to get ready to go to Disney World with two children we weren't quite expecting to take)....any chance I can talk the three little ones into snoozing on the couch with me? Yeah, I didn't think so..............
