Oh, Baby!!!

I haven't updated in a while for a few reasons, one of them being an internet privacy concern I had after Giggles and Taz's mom admitted to some friendly 'Google Stalking' of our family. So, I've been laying a bit low. Things have been all over the place within our case but the end result has been that we've remained static, that is until now.

Our kids are still a little bit of awesome. Giggles is 10 months old now, can you believe it? Taz is RAPIDLY approaching 2 1/2 and is exploring EVERY bit of his right to be in the "terrible two's." They keep us on our toes for sure but are certainly worth their weight in gold.

Their mom called me this afternoon to let me know that she was checking into the hospital. They weren't really sure what was going on but she is having some pregnancy complications and they were sending her up there after a less than ideal doctor's appointment this morning.

So, I start to put things into motion and put a call into our agency to let them know that if they baby isn't coming now, we aren't too far off (according to their mother anyway). Before I can get the words out of my mouth, the case manager says that they may have a baby for us. They have a baby in the NICU that they are waiting on kinship availability for. At this point, it doesn't look like kinship is going to be a good option and so are ready to place her into a BRIDGE/Adopt home (us!!!). She is a premature baby (born at 24 weeks) who is now ready for discharge, with supposedly only minor feeding issues.

We've decided to be open to which ever situation God feels that we're best suited for. My heart is torn between wanting to take the baby of the family we've been working with for almost 7 months and the baby that MIGHT be ours forever if she gets to come here. There are no guarantees either way.

When God rains his blessings on us, sometimes it pours. We have a few anxiety-ridden days in front of us as we see if Giggles and Taz's mom really is going to have this baby sooner than we were expecting or if we get chosen to have this other little one come stay with us.

Never a dull moment, never.
